Overview
This project is a cinematic re-imagining of Captain Claw, rebuilding its 1997 pixel-art world into a cohesive modern visual universe. The focus was faithful reconstruction, preserving character identity and tone while translating low-resolution sprites into detailed cinematic imagery, guided by my background in gaming and art direction.
Challenges & Approach
The main challenge was rebuilding the Captain Claw world from extremely limited pixel-art references. The original game design lacked detail, so every character, prop, and environment had to be carefully reinterpreted without losing its original identity. To solve this, I created precise model sheets for each character, ensuring visual consistency and accuracy across all scenes.
